By the end of this month, we will officially be in Springtime.
The days are getting longer with each day and the natural world is starting to dust off the cobwebs. Everyone is getting ready to spring clean their homes... but what about spring cleaning your website?
Let's take a look at a few ways you can spring clean your website this March.
1. Review your most important information.
Let's start with the basics.
Are your contact details correct?
Have you changed email addresses or phone numbers?
Are all your social media links up to date? Are they still showing the content you’re posting?
Does your website reflect any changes you've made to adapt to COVID-19?
There's nothing more frustrating for your customers and clients than being given incorrect or out of date contact details. Make sure if you've made any changes to phone numbers, email addresses or point of contact people that you update these across your website, social media and Google business page.
Remember a picture paints a thousand words.
Take a look at the images on your website.
Are your team pictures up to date? Have you forgotten to remove any previous employees? Have you remembered to add your new team members?
If you have images of your office space – are they the most up to date photos or is that office Christmas tree still photobombing your pictures?
Review the generic stock photos you have on your website.
Are they easily recognisable as generic stock photos? Have you come across them when checking out your competitors? If so, it's time to change things up. Even free stock image sites update their library regularly so you can visit the same site and find some newer images.
Fresh as a Daisy.
Review your old blog posts & articles. Are they still relevant today? Has any information or advice changed since the article was first published? If so, update the information so that they stay relevant.
Has it been a while since you’ve posted?
Try to put aside some time to invest into adding one or two good posts to your website to show your visitors and Google that your website is active.
Last but certainly not least.
Review your product or service pages. Do you still offer everything that is showing? Are your prices correct? Have you factored in any coming changes due events like Brexit? Are you advertising new products or services that are in the pipeline?
That's all folks! We hope you enjoy giving your website a spring clean.
